On 12 June 2024, Members of the European Organisation of the Sawmill Industries (EOS), partner of Sintetic, received an update regarding the development of the project.
In particular, EOS Members were informed about the SINTETIC Project annual meeting organised in Brașov (Romania) and co-organised by the Transilvania University of Brașov and by the EOS Member ASFOR. As explained, SINTETIC’s log traceability system can offer several benefits particularly in countries where there is a risk of illegal logging. Amongst these benefits: ensuring legal compliance, preventing illegal wood from entering the market, enhancing supply chain transparency, and supporting risk management and mitigation by identifying and addressing potential risks such as fraud, unethical practices, or environmental concerns.
