From February 11 to 13, the SINTETIC consortium gathered in Izola, Slovenia, for its Technical Meeting and Project Review. The discussions were preceded by a seminar on February 10, focusing on the implementation of the new EU Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products (EUDR).
SINTETIC is pioneering a comprehensive traceability system for trees, logs, and wood products using cutting-edge Information and Communications Technology (ICT). By assigning unique identifiers and tracking them via a central geodatabase, the project ensures full traceability from forest to final product. Additionally, SINTETIC integrates an advanced monitoring system that detects illegal logging through data from the Copernicus Satellite constellation, with potential for high-resolution satellite adaptability.
The meeting covered key project updates, including progress reports from Work Package leaders, deliverable summaries, and upcoming activity planning. With all milestones on track, the project is progressing smoothly, with no major deviations from the original plan.
Stay tuned for more updates on SINTETIC’s mission to enhance sustainability and combat illegal logging through innovation!
