The Commission has published its simplification package for the EU Deforestation Regulation. Please see the Commission press release here.
The package delivers on the commitment made to the European Parliament and the Council under the simplification review clause and includes the following elements:
- Updated FAQs and Guidance documents;
- A draft Delegated Act on the product scope, accompanied by a Staff Working Document with the methodology underpinning the proposed changes;
- A Report to the European Parliament and the Council;
- A draft Implementing Act governing the Information System.
